LEGO Party gameplay: what to expect
At its core, LEGO Party is a competitive board-and-minigame experience. Up to four players roll dice to move across themed boards inspired by popular LEGO sets, including:
- LEGO Ninjago
- LEGO Pirates
- LEGO Space
- Classic LEGO City
As players progress, they’ll encounter traps, shortcuts, and bonus tiles that can swing the game in unpredictable ways. The ultimate goal is to collect as many golden LEGO bricks as possible before the final round.
Between turns, players dive into a pool of over 60 minigames, ranging from silly skill challenges like balancing on a unicycle to endurance tests like dodging a spinning octopus tentacle. Some tiles also trigger 2 v 2 team minigames, adding variety and strategy to the action.
Winning minigames earns LEGO studs, which can be spent on modifiers to boost movement or sabotage opponents by stealing their bricks.
LEGO Party is being developed by SMG Studio, the team behind Moving Out, with additional support from Noble Steed Games. The developers ran over 100 playtests with families to ensure the game feels fun and accessible for all ages.
