MSI Gaming RTX 5070 TI 16G Shadow 3X OC

16GB GDDR7, 256-bit, Extreme Performance: 2497 MHz, DisplayPort x3 2.1a, HDMI 2.1b, NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture

Why you should get this RTX 5070 Ti

The RTX 5070 Ti belongs to Nvidia’s RTX 50 series of graphics cards, which means it has access to Nvidia’s latest set of AI-accelerated features – so it will remain relevant for many years to come.

Excellent gaming performance

Nestled between the RTX 5070 and RTX 5080, it’s an excellent option for 1440p performance, while offering the power and feature-set to push solid framerates at 4K, too. DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation (MFG) is being supported by more and more AAA games these days; MFG is exclusive to the 50 series thanks to its Blackwell architecture, and helps provide a massive FPS boost. The series is also well-suited for top-tier ray tracing performance.

16GB of VRAM

There has been a lot of discussion online surrounding the amount of VRAM that a gaming GPU should have. Many enthusiasts are turning away from 8GB GPUs as modern AAA titles get more demanding on your system, so the 16GB in the RTX 5070 Ti is a nice future-proof specification. It’s also worth noting that Nvidia opted for the latest GDDR7 memory standard for its 50 series cards. The additional VRAM is ideal for enjoying higher resolutions and higher texture settings in games without tanking your framerate.

Overclock & cooling

As a custom card, MSI has opted to factory overclock this model, hence ‘Shadow 3X OC’. The 3X also refers to the triple-fan design, using MSI’s TORX Fan 5.0 cooling fan technology to ensure high-pressure airflow, which helps keep temps low. This RTX 5070 Ti offers a 2,482 MHz boost clock speed and up to 2,497 MHz using the MSI Center Extreme OC profile. For reference, Nvidia’s first-party Founders Edition card has a 2,407 MHz boost clock, so this MSI model squeezes out a little extra performance.

Is this RTX 5070 Ti good value?

You’ll be glad to see that this MSI Gaming Shadow 3X OC model is actually the cheapest it has ever been on Amazon US. Price tracker site Camelcamelcamel reveals its recent price history.

It may not be quite as cheap as Nvidia’s $749 MSP, but the additional features -such as triple fan cooling, reinforcing backplate, and factory overclock are a few factors for the increased price. Now that it’s $65 off for Black Friday, we’d recommend it if you want to upgrade to the latest RTX 50 series.
