Why we like this XFX RX 9070 XT graphics card
As AMD’s current flagship GPU, the RX 9070 XT has a lot going for it. Here are three key features.
Excellent 1440p and solid 4K performance
Some may not think of the RX 9070 XT as a through-and-through 4K graphics card, but it certainly has the power to run modern titles at the ultra HD resolution. We haven’t tested this exact XFX card, but our friends over at PC Guide have reviewed the ASUS Prime OC model, so you can refer there for 1080p to 4K performance benchmarks.
In short, the RX 9070 is more than capable for AAA gaming at 1440p, and delivers great 4K performance for a fraction of the price of rival Nvidia’s higher-end alternatives. It even comes close to the last-gen RTX 4080 in terms of 4K power.
FSR 4 exclusive
An important thing to remember with the RX 9000 series is that AMD’s latest GPUs have exclusive access to FSR 4. This is AMD’s latest AI-powered upscaling and frame generation technology, which comes in handy if you want to target a high resolution in the most demanding games on the market.
FSR 4 is being supported by more and more games at launch, allowing you to massively boost performance without a noticeable loss in image quality. Upscaling is a method that renders games at a lower resolution and uses AI to upscale for crisper quality. FSR 4 offers improved visuals with less shimmering and improved details when compared to FSR 3 or FSR 3.1.
16GB VRAM
AMD has always been generous with the amount of VRAM in its graphics cards.
